Zoey Rhea Lynn Gruber, age 22, of Aurora, Indiana passed away suddenly on June 28, 2026, in Butlerville, Indiana. Born as the daughter of Joe and Heidi (Gillespie) Gruber on August 6, 2003, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Preceded in death by her loving father Joe “Goob” Gruber and Grandfather Russell Gillespie as well as numerous loved ones.
Zoey, a 2021 Franklin County High School graduate who worked for Local #44 Iron Workers Union. Zoey was known for her confidence, infectious smile, upbeat attitude, larger than life personality and being such a bright light in this world. She was known for having a big laugh and taking her shots at you on and off the pool table. She also was a co-founder of The Sisterhood of the Trades where she was able to share her passion.
Zoey is survived by her loving mother Heidi (Bob Wuest) Gruber. Beloved sister of Leighla Gruber. Also survived by her grandparents Mandy Gillespie, John, and Gail Gruber. Aunt Jeanie (Randy) Creek, uncles Trent (Tammy) Gillespie, and Dylan (Codie) Gillespie, her beloved companion Bruiser, and mentor, cousin, brother and father figure BJ “Donnie” Evans (Amber).
She will also be missed by many other aunts, uncles, so many cousins and friends.
A visitation to honors Zoey’s life will be held on July 7, 2026, from 3:00 P.M. until time of funeral services at 7:00 P.M. All at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.
Memorials may be directed to the family c/o the funeral home to set up a Scholarship fund for the ladies of the trades.
