Winnie R. Hays

Winnie R. Hays, age 85 of Bright, IN passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at her home in Bright. Born January 3, 1927 in Jackson, KY she was the daughter of Lendon & Lacey (Clement) Nichols. The 1944 graduate of Jackson High School in Kentucky was a member of the Bright Homemakers for 42 years and also a teacher's aide at the Greendale Baptist Church. She married Garrett "GT" Hays, Jr. on December 20, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH. Winnie is survived by her children Glenda (Rob) McKee of Clewiston, FL, Yvonne (Daniel) Hayes of Hamilton, OH, Diana (Ronald) Booth of Cincinnati, OH & Susan (Barney) Haley of Bright, IN. She will also be missed by her brother Lloyd Nichols of West Chester, OH, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Garrett "GT" Hays Jr. on September 6, 1997 and her sister Dorothy Langdon. Visitation will be Monday, August 6, 2012 from 10am until time of service at 12:00 noon all at Bright Christian Church with Ministers Jeff Stone & Mark Fugate officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Dearborn County or Bright Christian Church c/o Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH.
