William E. Nare Jr.

William “Bill” Nare Jr., age 78 of West Harrison, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Harrison, Ohio. He was born on August 31, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late William and Esther (Gerhardt) Nare.

Bill was a graduate of Elder High School and proudly served is country in the United States Army. He married Mary Katherine Nare on August 1, 1992, and they shared many years together until her passing.

Bill was a devoted member of Yeager-Benson Memorial American Legion Post 199 in Harrison, Ohio, where he served as Commander from 2019through 2024. His dedication to his fellow veterans and the American legion was an important part of his life.

A loyal Cincinnati sports fan, Bill especially enjoyed cheering on the Bengals and Xavier University.

Bill is survived by his daughter Molly (Eric) Galloway, son Daniel Griesmer; his grandchildren, Daniel and Grace Galloway; his brothers, Tom (Beth) Nare and Richard Nare; his niece, Kate and his nephews, Richie, Kevin, and Luke Nare.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held September, 27, 2026 from 12:00 P.M.to 3:00 P.M with military honors at 12:45 all at the Yeager-Benson Memorial American Legion post 199, 10700 Campbell Road Harrison, Ohio 45030, provided by the Harrison Honor Guard and United States Army.
