William "Bill" H. Baird

William "Bill" H. Baird, age 84 of Miamitown, OH passed away at his home on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Born November 5, 1930 in LaFollette, TN he was the son of Robert & Nora (Shoun) Baird. He married Mildred Archer on August 15, 1953 in LaFollette, TN. Bill worked for CG&E as a substation operator for 35 years. He served his country in the US Army. He loved trains, cars, and motorcycles. He wrote for the Harrison Press for over 40 years and was a Whitewater Township Trustee. Mr. Baird was a member of the Cincinnati Railroad Club and the Miami Whitewater Historical Society. Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years Mildred Baird; his children Laura Eversole of Hooven, OH, William H. (Nancy) Baird Jr. of Nashville, TN and Risa (Mike) Dole of Harrison, OH. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Karie Wegford, Justin & Brett Eversole, Bill III & Ian Baird, Aaron & Brian Fields, Ethan, Lexis & Tanner Dole; 8 great grandchildren; his brother Robert Baird Jr. of LaFollette, TN & his sister Rosa Lee Campbell of Waynesville, NC. Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5-8pm followed by services at 8pm all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating. Memorials are suggested to Leukemia Research at Children's Hospital (CCHMC Leukemia Research) c/o the funeral home.
