Virginia Steelman

Virginia (Hildebrand) Steelman, age 91, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Harrison, Ohio.

Born to Henry William and Mena (Boerstler) Hildebrand on October 24, 1931 in Sunman, Indiana.  She married Gerald Eugene Steeman on July 4, 1953 in Greendale, Indiana.

Virginia is survived by her children Gerald “Gary” E. (Jo) Steelman, Jr. and Pam (Tim) Mains, grandchildren Katherine Steelman, Christine Celsor, Angela Bustamante, Sara Wallace, William P. Fox, II, Craig Little, and Nick Little, many great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her sister Patty Venis, and her brothers Donald Hildebrand and Herschel Hildebrand.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Eugene Steelman, her parents William and Mena Hildebrand, her brothers Marvin Hacker and Marvin Hildebrand, and her sister Laverne Werner.

Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Dr. Joshua Long, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio.  Burial at St. Jacob’s Cemetery, 29959 Blue Creek Road, Sunman, Indiana 47041.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made in memory of Virginia Steelman to First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
