Virginia Lee Greiwe

Virginia Lee Greiwe (nee: Hahn), age 85 of Harrison, OH passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash. Born July 17, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH she was the daughter of the late Leo & Bessie (Martin) Hahn.

Virginia, a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, OH married Charles Greiwe on Jan. 12, 1952 s St. Dominic Parish in Cincinnati.. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, worked for JC Penney in sales, was the auxiliary president for Amvets Post 41 in Cheviot, worked as a democratic poll worker, and with Meals on Wheels, but more importantly, she was a homemaker for her husband and eight children.

Virginia is survived by her children, Charleen Greiwe of Fairfield, OH, Patty Hopkins (Paul) of Lawrenceburg, IN, Stan Charles Greiwe (Connie) of Bright, IN, Steve Greiwe (Kiki) of Springdale, OH, Catherine S. Houchen (Andrew) of Valparaiso, IN, Robert H. “Bob” Greiwe (Kim) of W. Harrison, IN and Scott Greiwe (Joett) of St. Leon, IN. She will also be missed by her 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Katherine Thompson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Greiwe-Striker and brother Don Hahn and sister-in-law Jean Greiwe.

Visitation will be Monday, March 14, 2016 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Church with Father Edward Shine officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph New cemetery immediately following services. Memorials are suggested to Amvets Post 41 c/o the funeral home.
