Virgil Bennett

Virgil Bennett, age 80 of W. Harrison, IN passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Born May 11, 1930 at Chappelow Ridge, IN he was the son of the late Stanley & ParaLee (McQueen) Bennett. Mr. Bennett worked as a Union Carpenter. On February 19, 1949 he married Freda Mae Banks. He was a member of the Chappelow Ridge Baptist Church formerly Faith Baptist Church, Carpenters Union & a Kentucky Colonel. Virgil is survived by his children Floyd (Phyllis) Bennett, Rosemary Draughn, Gary (Rosetta) Bennett & Brenda Hundley all of W. Harrison, IN. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Tressa Losekamp, Brandon (Stacy) Bennett, Ryan (Alexandra) Bennett, Erin (Brandon) Vogelsang, Sheena (Travis) Taylor, Alex Bennett, Alysia Bennett & Maeleea Hundley and great grandchildren Travis, Carson, Brody, Kaden, Collin, Nolan & Aylah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Freda Mae Bennett and brother Leslie A. Bennett. Visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2011 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 at Chappelow Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Errol Fowler & Winston Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN. Memorials are suggested to Chappelow Ridge Baptist Church c/o the funeral home.
