Vickie Lynn Newport

Vickie Lynn Newport, age 57, of West Harrison, passed peacefully at home on Monday, October 14, 2024, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born March 6, 1967, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ray and Trula (Robinson) Hall. On September 17, 1988, she became the wife of Brian Newport, and he survives. She had been employed at Sunman Dearborn Community Schools as a Teacher's Aide.

She cherished time spent with her family, whether it be off-roading in the sand dunes in Michigan or the Tennessee mountains, boating on the lake, or just being with her girls and grandsons. Anyone that knew Vickie knows that she loved her family and friends and always had a smile on her face and a great attitude; and it was a given she would never leave the house without snacks! Vickie was truly the life of the party anywhere she went.

Besides Brian, her husband of over 36 years, survivors include her father, Ray Hall of Versailles, Indiana; two daughters, Kelli (Brandon) Ertel and their son, Owen of Sunman, Indiana; Stacey (Scott) Siener and their son Cooper of West Harrison, Indiana; three sisters, Rae Jean (Howard) Austin, Lisa Orndorff, Lori (Mark) McConnell; one brother, Jim Hall; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Trula Hall.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Bright Christian Church, 24457 State Line Road, Bright, Indiana 47025.

Greg Edens will officiate the funeral service on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at the Bright Christian Church.  Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery in Bright.
