Tonjia Joy Johnson

Tonjia Joy Johnson, age 58, of West Harrison, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family at home. Born on November 29, 1966, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the daughter of Earl and Joyce (Lusby) Barrows.

Above all, Tonjia cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jamie Johnson and her beloved daughters, Sydney and Casey Johnson. Along with her brothers, Paul Lacey, Carl Lacey, and Nick Barrows; her mother-in-law, Frances Johnson, her in-laws Jeff and Marty Johnson, Jina and Kyle Stroh, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Joyce Barrows, and her father-in-law Clayton Johnson.

Tonjia was a proud graduate of Taylor High School. On October 24, 1987, she married the love of her life, Jamie Johnson. Together they built a beautiful life filled with family, friends, laughter, and love.

Tonjia had a generous spirit and a passion for helping others. As the owner of several GNC stores in the area, she touched countless lives with her kindness, encouragement, and care. She had a gift for making people feel seen and supported. She will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Tonjia’s life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.

Memorials may be made in Tonjia’s memory to either Loving Hearts Hospice & Palliative Care, 4109 North Dearborn Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and/or to Brad to the Bone Foundation (a nonprofit to raise funds for Glioblastoma research and treatment), 5539 Windemere Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45248.
