Sherry Lynn Collett

Sherry Lynn Collett, 67, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. She was born on July 7, 1958.

Sherry was raised in Okeana, Ohio, and gained her foundational faith in God at Okeana Baptist Church. Life took Sherry on a journey of living in various parts of the country including Vermont and Florida before returning home to Okeana for her final years.

Sherry enjoyed keeping up with the comings and goings of her large family, keeping in touch with the many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins near and far. She had a boisterous laugh you could hear from rooms away and was happiest sitting in a room simply making memories or singing songs with her siblings and mother.

She is survived by her son, Micheal Baker; her grandchildren, Savanah and Jamie Shields, and Violet, Michael, Lincoln, and Vivian Baker; two great-grandchildren; and a plethora of extended family members she held dear. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Jean Mathews Spencer; her brother, Jim (Andrea) Spencer; and her sisters, Ophalena Britton and Willa Jean (Willie) Routh.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Collett; beloved second father, Jimmie Spencer; her sons, James Shields and Ricky Shields; and brother-in-law, Ron Britton.

A graveside memorial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
