Ruth I. Hiler

Ruth I. Hiler reached the milestone of 100 years old on March 15, 2013. She was a homemaker who lived in Harrison, Ohio much of her life. Ruth passed away on February 2, 2014 at the Waters of Dillsboro nursing facility in Dillsboro, Indiana. Born in Guilford, Indiana (Snow Hill) she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Irene (Fondong) Bibee. She married Glenn E. Hiler on February 22, 1936 in Harrison, Ohio, he preceded her in death on December 14, 2002. Ruth was a member of the Macedonia Christian Church in Okeana, Ohio. Ruth was a loving mother to daughters Carol (Earl) Carpenter of Sunman, Indiana and Jill (Mark) Wilkins of Harrison, Ohio. Grandmother to Chris (Brigid) Bennett, Susan Bell, Kathy (Jay) Forbeck, Jessica Wilkins and Katelyn Wilkins as well as many beloved great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters Hazel Craig and Bernice Homan. She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn, sister Helen Shockley and grandson Brent Bell. Visitation will be held on February 6, 2014 from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by funeral services at 1:00pm all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Hart officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association c/o the funeral home.
