Russell Wilmer Jackson, age 72 of Georgetown, OH formerly of Harrison, OH passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. Born January 17, 1943 in Milan, IN he was the son of Wilmer & Irene (Eaglin) Jackson. He married Carole Quatkemeyer in 1968 and they had two sons Terry & Gary. The US Army Veteran during Vietnam was a basketball player for Dillsboro High School, graduating in 1961, making All-State team. He worked at Schenley Distillers until his accident in 1978. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison, OH; the Harrison American Legion, the Georgetown AmVets and Harrison K of C and former member of the Harrison Fire Dept. Russell was the sixth person admitted to the Ohio Veteran's Home where he lived. He was an inspiration to all who lived & worked there and will be missed by them all very much. Russell is survived by his mother Irene Jackson of Dillsboro, IN; his sons Terry (Marcy) Jackson of Harrison, OH & Gary (Shannon) Jackson of Harrison, OH. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Terrin, Alex, and Grasyn Jackson, Conner & Cameron Brocker and his brother Denver (Linda) Jackson of Dillsboro, IN. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son Russell Edward Jackson; grandson Marcus Jackson and brothers Donald & Bobby Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow services in St. John Cemetery with military graveside rites by Harrison Funeral Detail. Memorials are suggested to the Ohio Veteran's Home, 2003 Vets Blvd., Georgetown, OH 45121.
