Rosella "Rose" Kinkead

March 7, 1934 — January 31, 2013

Rosella Mae Kinkead was born on March 7, 1934 in a little house in Bright, IN to Stanley and Vera Jackson. Being the only child in the family she was showered with love and attention. This was the foreground of the wonderful, sweet, caring person we all knew her to be. She lived a care free childhood in a time when life was much simpler. After seven years, cousin Gerald was born followed by brother Denny and sister Nancy. No longer the reigning queen of the family Rose lovingly shared the spotlight with her siblings. She developed a strong caring bond with all of them that remained throughout her life. No matter how far away everyone moved Rose stayed in close contact with them. Anyone who knew her could see her devout dedication to her family. By 1952 Rose graduated from Bright High School a beautiful young woman. She met Roger Kinkead and fell in love. Soon after they were married and had their first child Rosamond. It was very clear that Rose was happy to become a mother. Soon after her first child she gave birth to Roxanne followed by Ronda, Randy and Rodney who was still born. Rose was a wonderful Mother to her children, always caring and nurturing them. There was never one cut or bruise she couldn't fix with a kiss. Years carried on and the kids all grew up to have children of their own. Rose then transformed from Mom to Grammy. She so loved her grandchildren Rob, Kate, Kelly, Jamie, Nathan, Audrey, and Ryan. She was an icon for grandmas leaving thousands of sweet memories with each of them. Her only dedication besides her kids, grandkids and God was her job. Ask anyone who worked with her and they'll tell you Rosey ran the office. She shared that same great loving and caring personality she had for her kids with her co-workers. Everyone loved her and she had many co-workers become close dear friends. After 20 years at Campbell Hausfeld and 20 more at Fernald she retired. Rose was a devout Christian. Never was there a situation in her life that she didn't turn to God. She read her bible often and knew it well and always did her best to live by it. If ever there was mortal example of the love of Christ it certainly could have been Rose. No doubt she is with him now probably running heaven as she did the office. Unfortunately for Rose by the time she retired she had fell to bad health. She struggled with one condition after the other. But through it all she never lost her faith in God or her love for her family. Some of her last words to her kids and grandchildren was I love you. Rose will forever be missed by not only her friends and family but by the world as well. If we all had her love and compassion the world would be perfect place. Visitation will be Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 1:00pm until time of services at 3:00pm all at Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church in Bright, IN with Rev. Scott Stephans officiating.
