Robert Edward Basham

Robert Edward Basham, age 82 of W. Harrison, IN passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Western Hills. Born February 10, 1930 in Cincinnati, he was the son of Harry Basham Sr. & Lesta Ann (Shelton) Basham. The Air Force Veteran of Korea retired from Max Hofmeyer Plumbing in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Norwood Lodge F&AM, Scottish Rite & Syrian Shrine in Cincinnati. He and his family owned the Basham's Rides & Concessions back in the 50's & 60's and spent the Spring through the Fall working the carnivals in the area and all winter working on the rides. Mr. Basham is survived by his children Bobbie (Jim) Sublett of New Trenton, IN, Lynda (Phil) Cook of Cincinnati, OH, Rita (Mike) Heid of Cincinnati, OH & Richard (Joyce) Basham of Tampa, FL. He will also be missed by his step children James (Leslee) Holthaus & Joseph (Melanie) Holthaus both of Cincinnati, OH; brother Mike Basham of Bright, IN, 8 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren along with many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia May (Wade) Basham who died in 2010 and his brother Harry Basham Jr. Visitation will be Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 9am until time of services at 10am all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating. Burial will be in Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery, Cedar Grove, IN. Memorials are suggested to the family c/o the funeral home.
