Richard Glenn Simmons, Jr.

Richard "Glenn" Simmons Jr., age 67 of Brookville, IN passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Mercy Mt. Airy in Cincinnati, OH. Born April 13, 1946 he was the son of Richard Glennis & Agnes Edna (Braukman) Simmons. After working 35 years in broadcasting for Cincinnati Stations WSAI & WLW Radio and TV Stations WKRC, WXIX, WLWT & National Teleproductions (remote TV Sports Productions), Glenn was hired at Miami University in 2000 and was the Assistant Chief Engineer in the Department of Communications. The US Air Force veteran was a member of the IBEW Local 212 in Cincinnati, OH and St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Leon, IN. Glenn is survived by his wife Barbara J. (Barhorst) Simmons along with his daughter Holly (Sean McLaughlin) Simmons of Santa Cruz, CA and siblings Alice Greene of W. Harrison, IN & Patrick (Tonya) Simmons of Jacksonville, FL. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Randy & Matthew Simmons. Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2013 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Leon, IN with Father Scott Nobbe officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Franklin Co. Humane Society or St. Joseph Church General Fund c/o the funeral home.
