Pastor Elmer Kegley

Pastor Elmer Kegley, age 83 of West Harrison, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 28, 2026. Born July 15, 1943, in New Boston, Ohio the son of Andrew “Andy” and Mary Lowe (Neal) Kegley.

Elmer a retired Maintenance Mechanic from G.E. married the love of his life Mary “Mag” Moore on April 8, 1964, in Metamora, Indiana. A true patriot who served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and as the Pastor of Chappelow Ridge Pentecostal Church for many years.

Survived by his loving wife of 62 years Mary “Mag” Kegley. Father of Angie Kegley, Sharon (Jay) Puckett, Kim (Mike) McCord, and daughter in law Joan Kegley. Grandfather of Emily (Rob) Bittner, Joshua (Rylee) Blair, Austin (Lindsay) Johnson, and Matthew McCord. Great grandfather of Colson Johnson, Paislee Johnson, Dovie Blair, Aria Johnson, Makenna McCord, and Landon McCord. Elmer also survived by his loving church family at Chappelow Ridge Pentecostal Church, and many numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and preaching brothers. Last but not least Elmer leaves behind his loving dog Buddy who he loved with all his heart and where you seen one you seen the other.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Mary Kegley, daughter Martha Denise Kegley, son Kevin Eugene Kegley, sisters Janet Kegley, Regina Roe, and Jeannette Simpson, mother-in-law Sarah Elizabeth Moore, father-in-law Millard Moore, and multiple brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jeff Hensley and Pastor Jimmy Wells all at Chappelow Ridge Pentecostal Church, 4740 Chappelow Ridge Road West Harrison, Indiana 47060. Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery Bright, Indiana.
