Pastor David C. Miller, a beloved spiritual leader, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away at home on February 20, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 30, 1952, in Covington, Kentucky, to James H. and Eva (nee Hall) Miller, and began his life. He was rich with faith and purpose, and spent many years nurturing the souls and spirits of those in his community as the Pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Pastor David’s journey in life was marked not only by his unwavering commitment to his church and congregation of the Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle soon to be 44 years, but also by the warmth of his familial bonds. He married his loving wife, Diane Peyton, on October 22, 1969, in Greenville, South Carolina, building a beautiful life together filled with love and shared faith. Their partnership brought forth two cherished children, David "Brian" Miller and Melissa (Doug) Cornett, who were a constant source of pride and joy for him.
As a grandfather, Pastor David embraced his role with open arms, delighting in the company of his grandchildren: Caleb (Ashley) Cornett, Chelsea (Jerris) Dodson, Dakota (Hannah) Cornett, Devin (Olyvia) Miller, Dustin Miller, Cole Miller, Connor Miller, and Bayleigh Miller. Each moment spent with them was a treasure, and he derived immense happiness from watching them grow and flourish. His passion for family expanded even further with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Taylor Cornett, AJ Cornett, Leilani Cornett, Miley Cornett, Noelle Cornett, Teddy Cornett, and Indiana Cornett, as well as Kambree Dodson, Josiah Dodson, Kelikea Dodson, and Avery Dodson, whom he adored deeply. Also survived by his in-laws, Curtis Maddox, Mary Louise Miller, and Dan Henson.
Pastor David also shared a bond with his brother, Ocie (Charlotte) Miller, who remains embracing his memories and legacy.
Though Pastor David rejoiced in the gift of family, he faced the sorrow of loss throughout his life, mourning the passing of his grandson, Daniel Noah Miller, and great-grandchildren, Jessie Miller, Micah Miller and Noah Dodson. He also remembered his parents, James H. and Eva (nee Hall) Miller, along with his brothers, Donald Miller and James "Everett" Miller, and sisters, Carolyn Byrd, Mary Kathryn Maddox, and Debbie Henson, who have been welcomed into eternal rest ahead of him.
Pastor David's commitment to his community and unyielding faith remain an inspiration to all who knew him. As we gather to honor his life, a visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle, located at 2100 Springdale Road in Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. A funeral service to celebrate his extraordinary life will take place the following day, Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM also held at Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle. A burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, Indiana.
In his passing, Pastor David C. Miller leaves behind a poignant legacy of love, faith, and compassion, embedded in the hearts of his family and the community he cherished so deeply. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to guide those who carry his memory forward.
Memorials are suggested to be sent to Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle, in Pastor David Miller's memory, and mailed to 2100 Springdale Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
