Orvil Griffin

Orvil Griffin, age 91 of Harrison, OH passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN.  Born September 2, 1925 in Summersville, WV he was the son of the late Arch & Mary (Miller) Griffin.

Orvil served his country in the US Army during WWII.  He was in the 325th Glider Infantry, 82nd Airborne Division in Central Europe.  He retired from Cincinnati Gas & Electric in 1988.

He married Delphia Milam on May 22, 1948 in Aurora, IN and was a member of the Bright Christian Church.

Orvil is survived by his sons Donald A. Griffin (Deborah) and Thomas F. Griffin and daughter Diane Mayfield (John).  He will also be missed by his grandchilidren Justin M. Griffin (Tiffany), Richard Griffin (Cynthia), Adam Griffin, Krystin White (Jeff), John Griffin (Breann), Timothy Griffin, Joshua Griffin & Ian Griffin, along with 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and his brothers Burton Griffin & Woodrow Griffin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Delphia Griffin, son William A. Griffin and siblings William, Guy, Mary, & Charles Griffin.

Visitation is Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 1:00pm until time of services at 3:00pm all at Bright Christian Church with Jeff Stone officiating.  Burial will follow services in Mt.
