Nellie Stephens

Nellie “Nell” Stephens, 93, of Bright, IN passed away, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Ridgewood Health Campus in Lawrenceburg, IN.  Born March 27, 1923 in Hilltop, KY she was the daughter of Dave & Nancy (Jones) New.  Nell married Dillard L. Stephens in 1941 in McCreary Co and was a member of the First Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Nell is survived by her son Terry Stephens (Vicki) of Guilford, IN; grandchildren Tim Broughton (Denise), Michelle Roberts Schneider (Drew), Kim Schiffmacher (Michael), Jennifer Heitfeld (Doug), Corey Stephens (Chance) & Megan Gillespie (Parker);  great grandchildren Adam & Nate Broughton, Kendra & Taylor Roberts, Drew & Taylor Heitfeld and Brecken & Vaylyn Stephens and her sister Alma Luarman of California.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her children Janet Scott, Joan Broughton and James Michael Stephens and siblings Louis, Etta, Chloe, Hayden and Allie.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 10am until time of services at 12 noon at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home with Pastor John Ramsey officiating.  Burial will follow services in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN.  Memorials are suggested to Miller York Volunteer Fire Dept. or  First Seventh Day Adventist Church c/o the funeral home.
