Nellie Callaway

Nellie Callaway, age 95 of Bright, IN passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Ridgewood Health Campus in Lawrenceburg, IN. The daughter of Henry & Coradella (Grubbs) Ziegler was born on August 7, 1917 in Bright, IN. Nellie, a 1935 graduate of Bright High School married William "Bill" Callaway on October 10, 1940 in Covington, KY. Nellie & her husband were a wholesale fruit & vegetable dealer for over 40 years. She quilted every time she sat down to watch TV and was the President for over 20 years for the Bright Home Makers Club. She was an honorary member of the Bright Lions Club and helped start the Bright Fire & EMS. Nellie was also known for her renowned cooking and catering. She loved her family, quilting & gardening and was an avid Reds fan. She is survived by her children Darla Cleary of Bright, IN, Danny (Darlene) Callaway of Bright, IN, Carol (Ronald) Andres of Rushville, IN, Gary (Phyllis) Callaway of Bright, IN & Randy (Rhonda) Callaway of Bright, IN; 9 grandchildren Brian (Angie) Cleary of Guilford, IN, Kevin (Tiffany) Andres of St. Leon, IN, Casey (Jamie) Andres of Harrison, OH, Brad Callaway of Bright, IN, Blake Callaway of Bright, IN, Tammy (Michael) Donawerth of New Alsace, IN, Tiffany Callaway of Indianapolis, IN, Derik (Kim) Callaway of Sunman, IN, Natasha (Steve) Gunter of Batesville, IN; 15 great grandchildren Cale (Cassie) Cleary, Mackenzie Cleary, Ronnie Andres, Wyatt Andres, Jeffrey Callaway, Tommy Mullens, Justin Mullens, Brandon Mullens, Cash Callaway, Conner Mays, Josh Mays, Julia Mays, Jasmin Callaway, Brayden Callaway & Chance Bailey; 2 great great grandchildren Cadence Cleary & Nellie Andres along with her siblings Gene Ziegler of W. Harrison, IN, Rosella Carroll of Harrison, IN, Donny Ziegler of Bright, IN, & Loren Ziegler of W. Harrison, IN. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband William, her son Jeff Callaway and her siblings Clifford Ziegler, Susie Reatherford, Henrietta Eggelston, Clara Ogdon & just 3 days ago her sister Bessie Callaway passed away. Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 9:30am 2:00pm with Lion's Club services at 1:45, followed by services at 2:00pm all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Pastor Scott Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN. Memorials are suggested to Bright Lions Club or Bright Fire & EMS.
