Naomi Mcconnell

Naomi McConnell, age 88 of Mt. Carmel, IN passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Brookville Health Care. Born August 9, 1927 in Dearborn County, IN she was the daughter of Everett & Dolly (Bristow) Risse. The homemaker loved to sew, crochet, work in the yard and bake. Everyone said she made the best lemon pies around. She married John McConnell on August 31, 1957 in Brookville and attended the Macedonia Christian Church in Okeana, OH. Naomi is survived by her son Ivan (Liz) Lane of Mt. Carmel, IN; grandchildren Rosie (John) Kuehn and Tracy Lane; great grandchildren Amanda (Christopher) Johnston, Dustin Kuehn, Kylee Kuehn and Marie Kuehn and great great granddaughter Morgan Johnston. She will also be missed by her sisters-in-laws Margarette Risse of Latonia, KY, Dorothy Kocher of Hamilton, OH and Eva Strait of Hamilton, OH and her nephew Delbert Risse of Cincinnati, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John McConnell; her brother Melvin Risse and her nephew Kenny Risse. Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Holland officiating. Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery will take place immediately following the service. Memorials are suggested to Drewersburg EMS 1 or Mt. Carmel Cemetery c/o the funeral home.
