Milford Lowe Mortashed

Milford Lowe Mortashed, age 72, of West Harrison, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, daughter and son by his side on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Born on June 22, 1950 to Lawrence H. and Sara (Quigley) Mortashed in Hamilton, Ohio, Milford graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in 1968 and married his high school sweetheart Cheryl Gillespie on December 26, 1970 in Cedar Grove, Indiana. They lovingly called each other "Hon" and were married for 52 years. Milt was a proud Vet who served in the Marine Corps. He was a pipefitter for the Local Union #392 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Friends and family knew him as extraordinarily creative. He had a quick wit and was a man of few words, but what he said counted.

Milford is survived by his bride, Cheryl (Gillespie) Mortashed, daughter Jodi (Brian) Firth, and son Lawrence Edward Mortashed. He is also survived by his grandchildren Elisabeth, Maranda, and Sara, and great-grandchildren Noah, Olivia, and Easton. He has one surviving brother Michael (Beth) Mortashed.

He was preceded in death by his sister Martha Mortashed and a brother Mark Mortashed.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service with military honors by the United States Marine Corps will follow at 12:00 p.m. all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.

Memorials may be made in memory of Milford Mortashed to the Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral home.
