Michael Howard Westrich

Michael "Mike" Howard Westrich age 66 of Bright, Indiana passed away at his home Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  Born June 6, 1951 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of Michael "Mick" Westrich and Barbara Ann (Clegg) Westrich.

Mike served our country in the Army and was trained in chemical warfare in Ft McClellan Alabama, and also served in the reserve.  Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting and sports.  During his high school career he was a 4 year Letterman that held 16 letters and will be inducted into the North Dearborn / East Central hall of fame in January 2018.  An avid Tennessee Vols fan and loved the Smoky Mountains. Turned a hobby into a business by collecting artifacts from around the world that included jade, Indian artifacts and other relics.  He enjoyed telling stories of relic hunting and fossil digs.  He never knew a stranger and enjoyed being very generous to everyone in need.  Mike enjoyed traveling, especially taking the grand kids to Disney.  Most of all he loved his family and the precious time they spent together.  Married Donna Murray on January 9, 1971 in Bright, Indiana.

Survived by his loving wife Donna Westrich of Bright, Indiana.  Father of Michael William (Patreasa) Westrich of Greendale, Indiana and Jennie Lynn (Patrick) Biddle of Bright, Indiana.  Pappy to Lauren Polley and Michael Nolan Scott Westrich.  Brother of Vella Kay (Wayne) Reiman of Bright, Indiana, Kathy (Alan) Hess of Bright, Indiana, Pam (David) Hartman of Greensburg, Indiana, Ken (Sandy) Westrich of Winchester, Ohio and Mark (Nancy) Westrich of Hebron, Kentucky.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Barbara Westrich and a infant brother.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM.  Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 10:30 AM with Jeff Stone officiating all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home.  Burial to follow in Gibson Cemetery Bright, Indiana with military honors provided by the Harrison Honor Guard.
