Melissa Lyn Ramey

Melissa ”Missy” L. Ramey, 40 years of age passed peacefully due to a brief fight of infection on April 26, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at Mercy Hospital West. She was born on February 11, 1983 in Lawrenceburg, IN to Kimberly Donley and Teddy Pickett.

She was engaged February 5, 2022, to the love of her life Kenny Reed and was looking forward to spending their life together. Kenny loved to call Missy his “snukems”. Missy and Kenny shared a dog named Cuddles that she loved to spend time with and even nicknamed "Baby Girl".

She was a caregiver by heart and wanted to help anyone she could even when her own situation wasn’t easy. Missy struggled for several years with drug addiction. She decided to turn her life around and worked hard to overcome her addiction. She did overcome her addiction and was clean for 5.5 years as of her passing. Her family and friends were so proud of her for overcoming such a hard obstacle.

Missy did earn her GED in 2021 and has since been pursuing a medical degree through the University of Phoenix. She wanted to find a position where she could help others and make a difference. She wanted to take her degree and work to help those struggling through addiction and use her story to build them.

Missy is survived by her mother Kimberly Donley; father Teddy Pickett; brother Christopher (Brianna) Ramey; 3 nieces Lilly, Sophie, and Kansas Ramey; her step father Steven Rowland; 4 step siblings Daniel Rowland, Dustin Rowland, Justin Rowland, and Stephanie Rowland; her grandparents June & Jack Ramey.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Alice Pickett; grandfather James Pickett; and step sister Natasha Rowland.

A Celebration of Missy's life will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home 215 East Broadway Street Harrison, Ohio 45030.
