Maxwell Glen Turner, age 89 formally of Bright, Indiana passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Heritage Springs in West Chester, Ohio. Born September 1, 1928 in Booneville, Kentucky the son of Arch and Reba (Williams) Turner.
Max served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. A graduate of Purdue University in 1956 with a BA in Mechanical Engineering and started work at GE Aviation in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked there in manufacturing and later in repair engineering on jet engines for 35 years. He enjoyed his time at GE Aviation, retiring in 1991. He married Helen Marie Patterson on June 7, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Later he became a Freemason and a master gardener. In 1970, Max and his family moved to Bright, Indiana where he enjoyed farming and gardening on a small farm.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Helen Turner, and sister in law Naomi Turner.
Max is survived by his son Alan (Dawn) Turner of Wyoming, Ohio daughter Linda (Eric) Hollowell of Fall Branch, Tennessee. He is also survived by his brothers Dan Turner, Heb (Lis) Turner and Ed (Pat) Turner as well as his sisters Geneva Turner and Anna (Charlie) Workman. Grandfather of Audrey Turner of Nashville, Tennessee, Randy Turner of Indianapolis, Indiana, James Hollowell of Columbia, South Carolina, Hannah Hollowell and John Hollowell both of Fall Branch, Tennessee and his many nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral services at 1:00 PM all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home Harrison, Ohio. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery Bright, Indiana with military graveside rites conducted by the Harrison Honor Guard.
