Mary Jane (Willsey) Sefton, daughter of Raymond and Bessie (Green) Willsey was born November 29, 1925 in New Baltimore, Ohio. She was a 1943 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School and attended business college in downtown Cincinnati. For a number of years, she was a secretary at the Seasongood Box Factory in Harrison, Ohio. Mary Jane married Grover Lee Sefton on July 29, 1948 at the Bright Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three children Janet (Sefton) Klem, Grover Ray (Linda) Sefton and Gordon James, better known as "Jim" Sefton. Mary Jane is also survived by her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their children. Preceded in death by husband Grover, her parents, all three of her siblings and their spouses; Ray Willsey, Jr., Shirley Willsey Curry and Lloyd Curry, Alan and Phyllis Bolser; son in law Eric Klem, and nieces Michelle Curry Doerr Buis and Brenda Willsey Schlosser.
Mary Jane sang in the choir for many years, was the Sunday School Superintendent, and an active member in the Women’s Society of Christian Service, known later as United Methodist Women. She was a member of Gov. Othniel Looker Chapter of the DAR and held numerous offices. Other group memberships included the Lawrenceburg Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and the Lawrenceburg Chapter of Internationally Yours. She was a 4-H Leader for a number of years and County Woman representative for Indiana Farm Bureau. She will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 10:30 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Bob Land officiating all at Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church, 25365 State Line Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025. Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery Bright, Indiana.
