Mary Elenore Newhouse

Mary Elenore Newhouse, age 90 of Edgewood, KY formerly of Harrison, OH passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Hospice of Bluegrass in Edgewood, KY. Born March 17, 1920 in Harrison, OH she was the daughter of the late John & Florence (Purdy) Newhouse. The 1938 Harrison High School graduate was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrison, OH and was in the choir for many years. Mary, in her younger years, played basketball and traveled around the country do this. She worked for the former First National Bank, now US Bank, as secretary to the Chairman of the Board where she met some very prominent people. Mary is survived by her nieces Rhonda Deal, Diane Metzler & Linda Seibert and nephew John M. Newhouse. She will also be missed by her 10 great nieces & nephews and several great great nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Jean Davis & brothers John & Robert Newhouse. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010; 7:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Harrison, OH with Rev. Glenn Baaten officiating. Her ashes will be buried in Glen Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass c/o Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH.
