Bright, Indiana

Mary Ann (née Singer) Moody, age 91, a longtime resident of Bright, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Born on October 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Harry Singer and the late Marie (née Wilson) Singer of West Harrison, Indiana. Mary Ann was the cherished wife of the late Robert "Bob" Moody; they shared a beautiful life together, married for 40 years before his passing. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Nellie Skipton.

Mary Ann and Bob made the most of every moment on their beautiful farm near Bright, Indiana. They shared their home with beloved family pets, including their dogs Becky and Sherlock, and their cat Possum. While working the land, they lovingly tended to their cattle and a small orchard featuring apples, peaches, and cherry trees.

Mary Ann spent the bulk of her career working at Union Central Life Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Some of her favorite pastimes included raising her pets, reading novels, crocheting blankets, arranging flowers, playing cards, and mowing the yard.

She will be deeply missed by her nephews Randall (Linda) Skipton and Ron (Clara) Moody, cousins Patsy and Betty Grubbs, and neighbor Rusty (Diana) Goins. She also leaves behind close family friends: Mary Gellert, Kelly (Greg) Pettit, Kevin (Julie) Gellert, Krista (Paul) Ketcham, and Kurt (Amy) Gellert, along with other loving family members and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Donna Davidson and the care assistants of Hoosier Best Homecare, as well as the compassionate care received from Loving Hearts Hospice, Jamie Osborne, and the nursing staff.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio. Pastor Greg Edens of Bright Christian Church will be officiating. Mary Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
