Mary 'Helen' Lovins

Mary 'Helen' Lovins, age 92 of Okeana, OH passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at her home. The daughter of Willie and Lula Belle (Brummett) Hubbard was born in Corbin, KY on February 23, 1922. She married Vernon Lovins on March 12, 1941 in Sharonville, OH and they raised seven children. He passed away on August 3, 1996. The homemaker was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison for more than 50 years and a member of the Mt. Hope Sewing & Garden Club. Helen loved to make quilts and was also a doll doctor, but most of all, Helen loved her family. Helen is survived by her children, Wilbur Lovins (Connie) of Okeana, Robert Bob' Lovins (Pat) of Okeana, Beverly Rawlings (Harry) of New Symrna Beach, FL, Linda Sturgill (Rick) of West Harrison, IN, Joyce Browning (Ray) of Hamilton, OH, Vernon Douglas Lovins (Robin) of Okeana and daughter-in-law Theresa Lovins; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters Zelona Young of Mt. Healthy, OH and Betty Bowling (J.C.) of Sharonville, OH plus 1 brother George Hubbard of Ocala, FL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Stanley Martin Lovins, along with brothers, Richard, Oscar & William Bill' Hubbard and sisters Melzena Barnes, Freida Warren & Wilma Hubbard. Visitation will be 11am-1pm on Monday, September 29, 2014 followed by funeral services at 1pm all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Bro. Ronnie Wolf officiating with burial to follow in the New Haven Cemetery, New Haven, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation, the Dragon Fly Foundation, Hospice of Cincinnati or the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.
