Mary J. Bolser, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at home in Bath, Indiana, on Friday, October 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 29, 1959, in Richmond, Indiana, Mary brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. She was a devoted cook and housekeeper at Miami University, where she dedicated her passion for nurturing and caring for others.
Mary, known for her vibrant personality, held a special fondness for the color purple and adored carnations, her favorite flower. She enjoyed indulging in retail therapy, aka shopping, and often found joy in playing games on her phone, activities that reflected her playful spirit. Additionally, her talent for crocheting became a cherished pastime, one that connected her with friends and family through the handmade gifts she lovingly created.
On March 25, 1977, in Covington, Kentucky, she married her beloved husband, Greg Bolser, with whom she shared an enduring bond and countless memories. Together, they built a family that flourished under the guidance of Mary’s nurturing spirit. She is survived by her husband, Greg; her children, Amy (Julio) Garcia and Brian Bolser; her grandchildren, Tommy, Rodriguez, Diego, Isabel, and Adaline; and her great-granddaughter, Malena. Mary's legacy thrives through them, as they carry forward the love and kindness she exemplified.
Mary's siblings that will fondly remember her are her brothers, Gary (Diane) Shelton, Jerry Shelton, Tom (Shannon) Shelton, and Wendel (Laurie) Shelton, along with her sisters Louise Hollingworth, Linda (Mike) Robinson, Tammy (Charles) Hobbs, and Sherry Ison, and who will always treasure her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Winston Shelton and Nellie Shelton (nee Hooker), whose love laid the foundation for the caring family that Mary nurtured throughout her life.
As we gather to celebrate Mary’s life and the beautiful impact she made on everyone around her, we invite her friends and family to join us in reflecting on her remarkable journey.
