Martha Ethel Lefker

Martha Ethel Lefker, age 83, of Madison, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home in Madison, Indiana.

She was born the daughter of Henry Louis and Ethel (Owens) Dole on July 12, 1942, in Harrison, Ohio. She married the late Robert Edward Lefker on July 13, 1963, received her GED, and later became a nursing assistant working in private care.

Martha enjoyed listening to music all kinds of music, She really enjoyed having company & someone to tell her stories too. Martha also really loved her a sweet treat.

Martha leaves behind a legacy of Love, strength and laughter and so many amazing memories. Martha created beauty and life and love and being in the garden healed parts of her soul. Although she’s gone her essence, her energy, her love, and her significance is in all of the lives she touched forever. Martha is finally reunited with the love of her life she shared almost 60 years with Robert Lefker. 

Martha is survived by her daughters, April Lefker, Pam George, and Michelle Ross. Grand mother of Robert Kramer, Sarah Ross, Mariah Esterman, Fran Ross, Logan Esterman, Araya Todd, Tessa Herweck, Hannah Leffel, Jacob Ross, and Mark Jayden Snell. Great grandmother of 18. Also survived by special friends Ronald, Kelly Esterman and her caregiver Meshia Moore.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Robert Edward Lefker (b. October 21, 1940, d. February 26, 2023), and her parents, Henry (b. September 27, 1885, d. August 11, 1971) and Ethel (b. February 8, 1889, d. April 9, 1957) Dole.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 12:30 pm, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.
