Marilyn Singleton

Marilyn P. Singleton, age 91 of Harrison, OH passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, OH.  Born May 2, 1926 in Butler County, OH she was the daughter of the late Earl & Eva (Faucett) Pottenger.

Marilyn worked as a medical secretary for US Hospital and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Harrison, OH.  She enjoyed singing and had participated in both her Church Choir and the Harrison Senior Center Chorus.  She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Marilyn is survived by her children Gillian Butler of Gulfport, FL, Becky Lewis (Dave) of W. Harrison, IN, Robert Purvis (Valerie) of Pleasant Run, OH and David Purvis (Mary Ann) of Lakeside, OH.  She will also be missed by her 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and her brother Lynn Pottenger of Fairfield, OH.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband’s Joseph L. Purvis & John Singleton, her son Michael Lee Purvis, 1 grandchild and her siblings Edna, Erla, Alva, Albert, Don, Howard & Jinny.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 9:30am until time of services at 10:30am all at First Presbyterian Church, Harrison, OH with Rev. Joshua Long officiating.  Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
