Lucy Mae Cranfill, age 78, died August 31, 2013 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, Indiana. Born April 3, 1935 in Burns Springs, Clay County Kentucky the daughter of the late Samuel Cash Jewell and Amanda (Lunsford) Jewell. Mrs. Cranfill was a housekeeper for the Radison Hotel for several years, retiring in 1989. Married to the late Richard E. Cranfill, Sr. Mrs. Cranfill is survived by her four children Richard E. Cranfill Jr. of Brookville, Indiana, Amanda (Dennis) Westerman of Brookville, Indiana, Debra (Ray) Chalk of Cincinnati, Ohio and Christopher Cranfill of Brookville, Indiana. Seven grandchildren Steven (Gloria) Cranfill, Christopher (Mendy) Cranfill, Jamie Copeland, Robert (Jaymie) Shaffer, Crystal (James) Tilton, Shane (Kim) Westerman, Nikki Christerson, Colleen Busboom, Stacey (Todd) Riggs & Jennifer Mae (Dave) Cope in addition to 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Callie Hoegman of Batesville, Indiana and brother James William Jewell of North Vernon, Indiana. Preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Amanda Jewell, husband Richard Cranfill Sr., siblings Maggie Gilbreath, Carlos Jewell, Hommer Jewell, Samuel Jewell Jr., and Theopolis Jewell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11 to 1 pm all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackleford officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
