Leo George Jacob

Leo George Jacob, age 72 years of St. Leon, IN passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. Born October 4, 1936 in Harrison, OH he was the son of the late Frank & Myrtle (Nugent) Jacob. He married Bertie Weldishofer on October 6, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Leon, IN. He retired from US Shoe in Harrison & Osgood, is a US Army Veteran, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church & St. Joseph American Legion Post 464. He was a former fireman for the Cedar Grove Fire Dept. Mr. Jacob loved to collect toy tractors and proudly displayed them in his office. He loved working in his yard. He was loved by all, especially his family who will miss him dearly. Leo is survived by his wife Bertie Jacob, daughter Theresa (Tracy Smith) Jacob of Milan, IN & Gary Jacob of St. Leon, IN; grandchildren Elizabeth, Joy, Eric, Ethan, Olivia, Hannah, Lucas & the lat Levi. He was preceded in death by his brother Elmer Jacob & sister Mary Hilbert. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Leon, IN with Father C. Ryan McCarthy officiating. Military Honors will follow the mass. Visitation will be Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 5-8pm with rosary at 7:30pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison, OH. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church, the family or masses.
