Lavonne May Steelman

LaVonne May Steelman, age 84 years of Harrison, OH passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 in Round Rock, TX. Born July 9, 1923 in Evansville, IN she was the daughter of the late Jacob Aloysius Damron & Irene May Herschel. She married George Aaron Steelman on October 24, 1942. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrison, former PTA President, Girl Scout Leader, church secretary & community volunteer. Mrs. Steelman is survived by her children Lana (Rick) Stapp of Harrison, OH; George (Mary) Steelman Jr. of Harrison, OH; Dennis (Linda) Steelman of W. Harrison, IN; Sandra (Tom) Fohl of Ross, OH & Scott (Angie) Steelman of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren Jeff Dole, Aaron (Rebecca) Steelman, Kate Steelman, Emily Stapp, Jen Steelman, Devon Steelman, Christina Fohl, Bethany Fohl, Betsy Stapp, Patrick Fohl & Mary LaVonne Steelman. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Clarence Herschel; sister Gloria Zrout & brother John Herschel. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison, OH. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 28, 2007 at 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Harrison with Rev. Glenn Baaten officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
