Karen Jean Hughes, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Bridgetown, Ohio, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on July 13, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Karen was a gentle spirit whose humble personality radiated warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A 1976 graduate of Deer Park High School, Karen went on to carve out a successful career as an insurance claims agent. Her dedication and meticulous attention to detail made her a respected figure in her field, but it was her unwavering commitment to her family that truly defined her life.

Karen was a cherished daughter of John Hughes and Ruth Hughes (nee Jacob), whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: brother, Joseph Hughes and sister, Nancy Hughes. Their memories will forever remain alive in the stories she shared and the love she held for them. Karen was dedicated to a hard work ethic for her children which was highly productive.

Her radiant spirit continued to shine through as she embraced her roles as a mother and grandmother. Karen is survived by her devoted children, daughter Jessica (Joe Wolfe) Hughes and son Jacob Hughes, who will carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. She was also a proud grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Gunner, Lillian, Isabelle, Andy, Lydia, Eli, and Evelyn. Each child brought a sparkle to her eye and an abundance of joy to her heart.

In addition to her immediate family, Karen found strength and support in her siblings: Michael (Sandy) Hughes, Susan (Keith) Carroll, and Kathy (Gary) Hembree. The bonds they shared were precious, woven together through laughter, love, and shared memories that will forever be treasured.

A member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, Karen's faith was a cornerstone of her life. It guided her in her everyday interactions and fostered a sense of community that enriched her experience and the lives of those around her.
