Joseph Henry Nolte

Joseph Henry Nolte of Bright, IN passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN at the age of 92. He was born on October 15, 1921 to Henry & Emma (Boss) Nolte in Chamois, MO. He was married to Doris Jean Drew who preceded him in death then married Gladys Reynolds. Joseph served his country during WWII in the US Army building bridges. He received many military honors including the American Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theatre Ribbon/5 bronze stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Joseph retired after 40+ years as an over-the-road truck driver for Duff Trucking. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local Union #100 and the American Legion in Cincinnati. He loved to watch racing and at one time was owner of a racecar. He also loved the outdoors and nature. Joseph is survived by his wife Gladys Nolte; daughter Deborah (Marvin) Wallace of Greensburg, IN and stepdaughter Betty (Don) Howard of Bright, IN. He will also be missed by his 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter, 1 great step granddaughter & 1 great great step granddaughter and his brother Henry Nolte of Chamois, MO and his sister Agnes Faron of St. Louis, MO. In addition to his parents and first wife Doris Jean Nolte, he was preceded in death by his son Larry Nolte, daughter Shirley Blare, sisters Theresia McMillan, Leona Smith and an infant sister and his brothers Ed Nolte, Tony Nolte and 3 infant brothers. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 1pm with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, 215 E. Broadway St., Harrison, OH. Burial with military honors by the Harrison Funeral Detail will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45231. Memorials are suggested to Dearborn County Hospice c/o the funeral home.
