Joseph N. Glascock, Jr., 88, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Mercy West Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born April 7, 1930 in Franklin County, Indiana to Joseph N. Glascock, Sr. and Edna (Baither) Glascock. He graduated from Whitewater Township High School in 1949.
He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years (1951-1953) and was stationed in Korea. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Harrison and St Leon.
Joe worked at Fernald, Ohio for a few years, but his main occupation was as a lineman for Cincinnati Bell Telephone.
He spent many hours mentoring young people in various activities, including serving as a 4-H Leader, supporting the 4-H Program, and keeping score for the high school basketball team.
He enjoyed sports and traveled throughout the United States playing softball well into his eighties.
Joe was involved in community activities, including the Cedar Grove Firemen's Festival and maintaining the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. He was proud of his farm life and shared it with others when making sorghum every year.
Everyone looked forward to the great events he hosted at his home and the Pond House.
Joe was preceded in death by his father Joseph N. Glascock, Sr., his mother Edna (Baither) Glascock and his brother-in-law Renos Roark. Survivors include 4 siblings; James (Peggy) Glascock, Patricia Roark, Ellen (Frank) Siemens and Robert ( Becky) Glassic and many nieces and nephews. Joe was loved and respected by his siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Also, he was blessed to be included as family by many friends, and he considered them all to be his family as well.
Joe was a very special person, and his impact on people in the community was significant.
He will be greatly missed by many.
