John F Noel

John F. Noel, age 97 of Okeana, OH passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Shawneespring Health Care in Harrison, OH.  Born May 21, 1919 in Elkhorn, KY he was the son of Delmar & Gertha (Wooley) Noel.

John married Gretchen Tucker in 1939 in Cincinnati, OH.  He retired in 1986 as a bus driver for Metro in Cincinnati.  He served his country during WWII in the Army’s 1031st Combat Engineers.  John was a member of the Fellowship Tabernacle in Carthage, OH.

John is survived by his children Charles Owen Noel (Late Diane) of Harrison, OH; Ann Laverne Adams (William) of Ft. Myers, FL and Kenneth R. Noel (Late Pattie) of Okeana, OH.  He will also be missed by his 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 1998, Gretchen Noel, his brothers Tom & Herb and his sisters Nancy, Opal, Juanita, Loritta & Christine.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 6pm until time of services at 7pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Pastor Brian Hoeler officiating.  Burial with military honors by Harrison Funeral Detail will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10:00am at Crown Hill Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati, OH.
