John William Blum, age 82 of Harrison, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Shawneespring of Harrison. Born June 16, 1936 in Dover, Indiana the son of Dewey and Kathryn (Hauck) Blum.

John Married Dorothy Quatkemeyer January 8, 1966 at St John the Baptist Harrison, Ohio. John worked for Burns International Security, Harrison Foundry, Sperry Rubber Company, Harrison Volunteer Fire Department and worked as a janitor for St John's in Osgood, Indiana. Served his country in the US Army and a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church Harrison, Ohio.

John is survived by his children Lora (Dennis) Roark of Rising Sun, Indiana, Diana Simpkins of Cleves, Ohio, Dwynella (Woodford) Reatherford of Harrison, Ohio and John Blum II of Harrison, Ohio. Grandfather of 29, Great grandfather of 21. Brother of Roy Blum West Harrison, Indiana and Rose Blum of Harrison, Ohio.

Preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Kathryn Blum, wife Dorothy Blum and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Held Friday, October 12, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. with Knights of Columbus Council #1231, Most Holy Rosary Assembly # 246 services at 12:30 P.M. at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home 215 Broadway Street Harrison, Ohio 45030. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, October 12, 2018 1:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist church Harrison, Ohio with Father Jeffrey Kemper officiating. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist church cemetery Harrison, Ohio with military grave side rites provided by the Harrison honor Guard and the US Army.
