Rev. Jerold John Jensen, age 82 of W. Harrison, IN passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Ridgewood Health Campus in Lawrenceburg, IN. Born December 22, 1928 in Grantsburg, WI he was the son of the late John Ernest & Mable (Gronlund) Jensen. The US Navy Veteran of WWII married Wilma Schutte in Webster, WI on August 5, 1950. He recently retired as Pastor of Macedonia Christian Church where he ministered for the past 10 years. Rev. Jensen is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma Jensen; sons Steven (Tamie) Jensen of Detroit Lake, MN, Paul (Dori) Jensen of Rhinelander, WI and David (Susan) Jensen of Huntsville, AL. He will also be missed by 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and brother Dr. Norman (Nancy) Jensen of Madison, WI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Linda (Mark) Hendrickson, son John Jensen, and granddaughter Selah Jensen. Rev. Jensen previously pastored at Elnora United Methodist Church, College Corner United Methodist Church, and retired from Rockdale United Methodist Church. Prior to his ordained ministry Jerry Jensen was the Executive Director with Youth for Christ International for 20 years as well as the State Director in Wisconsin. He also had his own businesses in manufacturing aluminum doors & awnings and owned/operated The Carpenter Shoppe where he made cabinetry and remodeled homes. He served as President of Toast Masters International in Racine, WI and was a member of the Rotary International in Ironwood, MI. He loved fishing, hunting, reading, studying, and spending time with his family. He loved to sing, which he was very good at, and aired on TV in Ironwood, MI at News Time bringing the "Thought to Live By". Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 4-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH and Thursday at 10:00 am until time of service at the church. Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 11:00am followed by military services at Macedonia Christian Church at the corner of Drewersburg Pike & California Rd. in Okeana, OH with Pastor Scott Holland officiating. Memorials are suggested to Macedonia Christian Church or Rockdale United Methodist Church to funds that will be named later or Jerold J. Jensen Trust Fund at Merchants Bank & Trust, West Harrison, IN.
