James Earl Jones, the esteemed owner of Jim Jones Painting, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Harrison, Ohio, at the age of 65. Born on June 11, 1960, in Harlan, Kentucky, he embraced life with a zest that endeared him to many.

James proudly earned his GED and turned his passion for art into a thriving business, where he poured his creativity into every brushstroke. His dedication to his craft was evident, and it was through his painting business that he made lasting connections within the community.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, James had a deep love for his family. He is survived by his cherished children: Chelsea (Karl) Wiese, Tiffany (Tim) Puckett, Aleshia Bokeno, and Tyler Gregory. His mother, Thelma "Jewel" Jones (Bennett), brothers, Ricky Jones and Donnie (Amy) Jones, and sisters Vickie Jones and Joyce (Ken) Langenbrunner also remain to honor his memory. Additionally, James was always accompanied by his companion and beloved dog, “Rocky,” who brought joy to his life.

James will be remembered for his warm spirit, his artistic talent, and the love he radiated towards his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Jones, as well as brothers Donald and Charles Jones. His other sister, Vickie Jones, also left this world before him, and their memories will forever be cherished by those who knew them.
