James "Jim" A. Fischer

James A. “Jim” Fischer, age 74 of Rising Sun, IN passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at The Waters of Rising Sun.  Born March 17, 1942 in Dearborn County, IN he was the son of Lois (Courter) Fischer the late James Fischer.

Jim served his country in the US Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison, OH. He was owner/operator of Lake Ilene on West Rd in Harrison, a barber in Kentucky for several years, a farmer and also involved in several other businesses.

Jim is survived by his mother Lois Fischer of Dillsboro, IN; his wife Ilene Fischer of Harrison, OH; his daughter Teresa Henry of Rising Sun, IN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his siblings Bonnie Woodward of Aurora, IN and Steve Fischer of Cincinnati, OH.  He was preceded in death by his father James Fischer.

Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2015 from 11:00am until time of services at 1:00pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Bro. Ronnie Wolfe officiating.  Burial will follow services in New Haven Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.
