James Isaac Hatmaker

February 18, 1931 — November 7, 2022

James Isaac Hatmaker “Hatrack”, 91, of Bright, Indiana went to be with the Lord and Savior on Monday, November 7, 2022.  He was born in Pineville, Kentucky on February 18, 1931, and was the oldest of 15.  James was married to Wilma (nee Redmon) for 47 years.  James was a meat cutter for the Kroger Company for 47 years and a bus driver for Southwest Local Schools for 25 years.  James volunteered at North Dearborn Food Pantry.

James was a life-long Kentucky Wildcats fan.  He truly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports.  You could hear him cheering above everyone else in the stands.

He came from humble beginnings and never met a stranger.  James was kind and generous to everyone he met.  He was always willing to help others. He taught his children the meaning of honesty and generosity.  James instilled in his children the meaning of hard work.  You couldn’t stay in a bad mood around him.  His sense of humor was contagious, and his smile could light up a room.

James is survived by his four children, Jim (Teresa), David, Debby and Tim (Ine).  Nine grandchildren, Nicole Hatmaker, David (Rosa) Sanders, Brooke (Eric) Stenger, Natalie (Brett) Bergman, Cody Baker, Ryan Hatmaker, T.J. Hatmaker, Lexi Hatmaker and Skyelar Hatmaker.  Eight great-grandchildren, Carter Graf, Colin Graf, Berkleigh Bergman, Cruz Graf, Braelyn Bergman, Everett Stenger, Reese Sanders and Layton Baker.
