James E. Abney

James E. Abney, age 69 of Harrison, OH passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Mercy Health West Park in Cincinnati, OH. Born May 4, 1944 in Cincinnati he was the son of Lonnie & Opal Abney. James married Linda Offill on November 27, 1976 in Jellico, TN. He was a graduate of LaSalle High School, served his country in the Navy and was a computer programmer for AT&T. James is survived by his wife Linda Abney, children Sherri (Tim) Bischoff of Harrison, OH, Lola Kelly of Harrison, OH, Jamie (Chuck) Hedges of Delhi, OH & Jeff Abney of West Chester, OH. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Nick, Matt, Amanda, Devon, Sophia, Chloe, Cash, Justin & Greg; great grandchildren Hailey, Hannah & Naomi; his brother Lonnie (Sharon) Abney Jr. of Beechmont, OH & his nephews Ricky & Mike Abney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Greg Abney. Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Detzel officiating. Burial will follow services at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, IN with military graveside rites by the Harrison funeral detail. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Burn Hospital c/o the funeral home.
