Ida Frances Bowles

Ida Frances Bowles, age 97, of West Harrison, Indiana, flew away to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 4, 2022 while surrounded by family and friends. Frances was born to J.L. and Ada (Rochester) Thomas on March 2, 1925 in Roanoke, Alabama.

Frances retired from Globe Tailoring as a seamstress, and later was employed by Hardees in Harrison, Ohio as the renown biscuit maker. Frances enjoyed gardening, growing roses, lawn care, playing dominoes, and reading her Bible. Frances was the wife of both Curtis L. Maddox, Sr., and Floyd C. Bowles.  She was a member of the West Harrison Pentecostal Tabernacle for over 40 years and later attended the Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle of Cincinnati, Ohio with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, family of Curtis L. Maddox Sr.: beloved son Curtis L. (Mary Kathern) Maddox, Jr., four grandchildren Curtis Wade (Wanda) Maddox, Penny Hodge, Stephen Todd (Michelle) Maddox, Carri (Nathan) Embrey, eleven grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, family of Floyd Bowles: son Clarence Bowles, daughter Phyllis Hawkins, daughter Betty Bowles, son Robert Bowles, daughter Julie Sandlin, a host of grandchildren, one sister, Hazel Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Curtis L. Maddox Sr., husband Floyd C. Bowles, daughter Frances Cooper, daughter Becky Alford, son Dennis Bowles, son Karvel Bowles, brothers Arthur J. Thomas, Bobby Joe D. Thomas, Billy C. Thomas, sisters Kattie Shaw, Mary Lou Nichols, Ada Jim Smith, Darie Hodges, Ruth Teague, Grace Scott, and Peggy Anglin.

Friends may pay their respects on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Nathan Embrey with all being held at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.

Memorials may be made to Feed the Need Ministry at Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle c/o Makala Monday through the funeral home.
