Howard K. Mcconnell

Howard K. McConnell, age 86 years of Okeana, OH passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 in Okeana. Born Jan. 15, 1922 in Metamora, IN he was the son of the late Walton & Hazel (Stewert) McConnell. He worked for the State of Ohio highway dept for 32 years and was a member of the Church of Christ on Sunset in Harrison, OH. On Jan. 2, 1942 he married Florence Ellen Overholtz. Mr. McConnell is survived by his children Raymond (Joyce) McConnell of Hamilton, OH; Rose (Jerry) Holt of Milan, IN; David (Kay) McConnell of Brookville, IN; Gary (Brenda) McConnell of Okeana, OH; Ruth McConnell of Okeana, OH; Harry McConnell of W. Harrison, IN & Paul (Patty) McConnell of Blanchester, OH. He will also be missed by his 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Kocher of Hamilton, OH & Eva Strait of Hamilton, OH & brothers Lester McConnell of Crosby Twp, OH & John McConnell of Brookville, IN. In addition to his parents & wife Florence Ellen McConnell, he was preceded in death by his sisters Ida McMillin, Goldie Bolser, Helen Noe, Mary McConnell & Ruth McConnell and brothers Chet McConnell & Raymond McConnell. Visitation will be Wed. July 23, 2008 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison, OH. Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 10:30 am at Church of Christ on Sunset in Harrison, OH with Pastor Russell Lieb officiating. Burial will be in Shandon Cemetery in Shandon, OH. Memorials are suggested to Morgan Twp. EMS or Hospice of Cincinnati (Hamilton)
