Hillman Curtis Grubbs, age 85 of Batesville, IN formerly Harrison, OH passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his home. Born December 7, 1928 in Harrison, OH he was the son of Lee & Ruth (Jacques) Grubbs. The 1946 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School served his county in the US Army during WWII. He married Marcella Mae Hacker on July 5, 1949. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows & the Snow Lodge #193 F&AM. He retired from P&G as a line mechanic. Hillman is survived by his partner Helen Weber of Batesville, IN; children Barbara (Daniel) Hall of West Harrison, IN, Jennifer (Marc) Hutton of Cincinnati, OH, Lea Ann Hobbs of Cleves, OH, Tony (Janet) Grubbs of Bridgetown, OH & Terry Grubbs of Cleves, OH. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Andrew, Abby & Aaron Hall, Ryan Grubbs, Nicholas Grubbs and Cory & Lacy Hobbs and great grandchildren Alex, Annie, Lindsay, Cody, Taylor, Brook, Gunnar, Lilah & Cecilia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marcella Mae Grubbs on August 4, 1999 and his sister LaVerne Kennedy. Masonic Services will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11:30am followed by visitation from 12:00pm to 2pm and funeral services immediately following at 2pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Pastor Brian Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery with military rites by the Harrison Funeral Detail. Memorials are suggested to Margaret Mary Hospice c/o the funeral home.
