Helen E. Stokes

Helen E. Stokes, age 85 years of Brookville, IN formerly West Harrison, IN passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in Cincinnati, OH. Born March 13, 1921 in Falmouth, KY she was the daughter of the late James E.D. & Jesse Bell (Records) Newkirk. She worked for US Shoe in Harrison, OH for 45 years and retired in 1986. On May 27, 1939 she married Herman L. Stokes in Franklin County, IN. She was a member of the Brookville Christian Center. Mrs. Stokes is survived by her daughters JoAnn (Richard) Koester of Brookville, IN; Janice (Shelby) Wyatt of W. Harrison, IN & Shirley (Howard) Wilson of Brookville, IN; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and sister Beulah West of Falmouth, KY. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers & 3 sisters. Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2006 from 5-7 P.M. at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Drewersburg Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Drewersburg Cemetery.
