Harlan "Buzz" Viel

Harlan A. "Buzz" Viel, age 93 of Harrison, OH passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Harrison, OH. He was born on May 1, 1921 in W. Harrison, IN and was the son of the late Carl & Louella (Yeager) Viel. He married Anna Mae Dole on November 20, 1948 in Harrison, OH and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. He served his country during WWII in the US Army. He retired in 1983 from Fisher Body (GM) in Hamilton, OH as an assembler. Harlan is survived by his wife Anna Mae Viel, his daughter Mary Lou Grubbs of Harrison, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Suzanne K. Woodruff, his grandson Chad Harlan Grubbs and his siblings Dorothy Mae, Richard, & Helen Viel and Charlotte Jean Jameson. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 10am until time of services at 11:00am at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Harrison Fire & EMS c/o the funeral home.
